All these factors have an impact on being healthy and affect the way the body ages. Most people take more care of their cars than they do of their bodies.
As we would spend time polishing the outside of our cars and making sure the fuel we put in them is as pollutant free as possible then it is logical to assume we would want to do the same for our bodies.
How can I become more healthy?
- Drink plenty of water. Just water with nothing in it!
- Reduce or eliminate your alcohol intake.
- Remain a non smoker or become one!
- Reduce your caffeine intake. This also includes chocolate!
- Avoid processed and convenience foods.
- Be aware of the amount of sugar in your diet. This includes fruit and vegetables, particularly those high on the Glycemic Index (GI), as well as refined sugar.
- Avoid sweeteners.
- Be aware of all the ingredients in your food and what they are.
- Make sure you have sufficient vitamins and minerals in your diet.
- Provide your body with the resources it needs to maintain itself healthily.
- Take regular exercise.
- Balance your working life with your pleasure activities.
- Reduce stress in your life.
- Minimise the amount of negativity in your life, including your own thoughts.
- Meditate.

Not only your food intake affects the health and efficiency of your body. The memories you store in your unconscious mind also determines your physical and emotional health.
One way of looking at how your thoughts affect you physically is to consider the concept that the negative thoughts you hold about yourself cause energy blockages within the body and therefore creates dis-ease.
Because the unconscious mind has a 90% power over the conscious mind, you can TRY to consciously think your way to health, usually with very little long term success.
The unconscious mind stores negative emotions and limiting decisions and beliefs and these affect the way we think about ourselves today.
The classic example of this is going on a diet, losing weight for a relatively short period of time and then putting it all back on (and more!) because we haven't changed the way we think about ourselves and our bodies or when we experience something in our lives which puts us under emotional strain.
Toxins are stored in the fatty tissues of the body and during dieting our organs suffer from toxic overload as we shed the pounds. We then get sick and feel that the diet is not worthwhile as we feel so miserable. The easy option is to resort to old habits and eat to resolve our problems. (Comfort eating)
Therefore, by changing your self image, you can avoid the pitfalls of conventional dieting.
